The Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) Waiting List Lottery will open Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 6 AM until Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11 PM.
- Submitting an application does not mean you will get a Section 8 voucher. It means you will be included in a lottery for a place on the waiting list
- Applications will NOT be pulled in the order of date and time. All applications, no matter at what time, will be entered into a randomized lottery. After the lottery is pulled, only the first 2000 applications will be placed on the 2026 waiting list.
- Apply from your home, work, on the go – just about anywhere! You can use a smartphone, mobile device, or computer with internet access to apply in minutes. Computers will be available at 301 Chartiers Ave. in McKees Rocks during the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm both dates. All applications will be treated equally for the wait list lottery, no matter who applies on the first day or last day.
- Only one application per household will be accepted.
- There is NO FEE to apply.
If you have a disability or need communication in an alternate format or language call 412-355-8940 or TTY 800-833-5833 or 711.
